Reducing Clutter Information

Would you like to have a little more organization in your life? You are not alone. Most of us would! Most of us are surrounded in clutter in our homes and in our work space. But how do you go about deciding what to keep and what is clutter you should get rid of.

The solution to decluttering your life is really quite simple. Start with your closets. They are the number one clutter place. The closet is a place where we seem to store everything we don’t need at the moment. And while we might start with the best intentions of organization, it seldom lands up that way. Before we know it we have clothing mixed with books mixed with shoes, mixed with important papers, and the list goes on. Suddenly it’s almost impossible to find anything you are looking for.

The top shelf that many closets have does not offer enough shelving to properly organize a closet. Adding a shelf at the bottom is a good start, and investing in stacking bins is a really great idea. Choose a size that will work with your closet and your needs. Label each bin according to what you plan to store in it. By using bins you can mix all kinds of items. For example, gloves can be stored with magazines, and books can be stored with shoes.

Magazines are a common weak point for many of us, resulting in all kinds of clutter that we could live without. While your intent might be good, the question is will you really read those magazines that are years old. For the most part the information is likely outdated. If there are important articles, why not remove them and store in plastic sleeves for safe keeping. You can then get rid of all those old magazines that are taking up valuable space.

Under the bed storage can be extremely beneficial if properly organized using sealed containers with wheels. But instead most of us rack and stack with never a thought to organization resulting in piles of clutter. Seasonal and extra bedding can be stored under the bed using vacuum bags. It takes up little space and keeps it organized and easy to access when needed. If your bed is too low for containers just invest in bed lifts. They are a simple solution that allows you to maximize your under bed storage.

Reducing clutter in your life, includes your home and office, and begins with you deciding what is worth keeping and what it’s time to part with. Whether it’s out of style, broken, doesn’t fit, isn’t used anymore or was a gift no longer used, there comes a time when we need to part with some of our stuff. By doing so we de-clutter and organize our environment, which leads to a calmer more relaxed environment that is also more enjoyable.
